It has pleased Almighty God in His Infinite Wisdom to call Yvonne Shively, age 73 of Paris, Illinois, to her home in Heaven. Yvonne passed away at 10:55 a.m. Monday, December 12, 2016 at Paris Community Hospital Emergency Room. She was born December 1, 1943 in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of William Thomas Veeley, Jr. and Anna Catherine (nee Sparkman) Veeley. Survivors include her husband Gary L. Shively whom she married of July 2, 1967 at St. John Lutheran Church, Columbus, Ohio, her two sons, Mark Alan Shively of Mount Vernon, Ohio and Dr. Karl David Shively and his wife Elizabeth of Indianapolis, Indiana, three grandsons, Zachary Matthew Shively, Luke Vincent Shively, and Scott David Shively, and one granddaughter Madeline Eva Shively. She was preceded in death by her parents. Yvonne was a long-time elementary teacher in Marshall, Illinois. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Paris, where she served as an organist and VBS teacher. She was a member of Grace Ladies Friendship Guild, Illinois and Clark County Retired Teachers Associations, life member of West High School Alumni Association, and a life member of The Ohio State University Alumni Association. She was a 1961 graduate of West High School in Columbus, Ohio and a 1965 and 1971 graduate of The Ohio State University. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Grace Lutheran Church in Paris with Pastor Daniel Smith officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time Saturday in the church. Committal service and burial will be Wednesday, December 21, 2016 in Four Mile House Cemetery, Fremont, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Child Development Center or The Lutheran Hour. Stewart and Carroll Funeral is assisting the family with the arrangements.
