Wilma Sapp, age 91 of South Bend, Indiana and formerly of Paris, Illinois, passed away at 9:00 p.m. Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend. Mrs. Sapp worked all of her life, in Germany doing secretarial work and in Paris at Roger Fruin's Law Office and Godding Shoe Factory and at a radio station in Terre Haute, Indiana. She also was an American Family Insurance representative. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Paris. Born October 27, 1926 in Delmenhorst, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Franz and Hedwig (Ute) Luftmann. Wilma was the youngest of five sisters. She married Joe L. Sapp March 20, 1954. Joe and Wilma lived in Vermilion, Illinois for several years and were members of the Vermilion United Methodist Church. They then moved to Delmenhorst, Germany for a while before moving back to Paris, Illinois in 1973. Mr. Sapp passed away May 30, 1986. Survivors include a daughter Monika Turner and her husband Greg of Granger, Indiana, four grandchildren; Elizabeth Turner of Rockville, Maryland, Sarah Turner of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Anna Turner of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Joseph Michael Turner of Granger, Indiana, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her four sisters; Hedwig (Theodor) Niemann, Anna (Georg) Bentrup, Erna (Heinrich) Twietmeyer, and Kaete (Wilhelm) Hollinden. Funeral services for Wilma will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Edgar Cemetery.
