William Larry Johnson, 76 of Vermilion, Illinois passed away at 10:55 p.m. on Friday, August 25, 2023 at the Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care in Terre Haute, Indiana.

A visitation is scheduled from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home in Paris.  Funeral services will be Thursday, August 31, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home with a burial in Vermilion Cemetery.

Larry was born November 20, 1946 in Paris, Illinois to the late William Lee and Minnie Gay (Rogers) Johnson.

He was a member of the Army and served in Vietnam.  Larry was also a member of the American Legion Post 2910.  He was a master carpenter and cabinet builder and a self taught banjo player.  Larry loved his cats and enjoyed hunting in his younger years.

Larry is survived by his siblings; Doug (Sandi) Johnson of Paris, Illinois; Bobby (Jane) Johnson of Vermilion, Illinois; Teddy (Lisa) Johnson of Vermilion, Illinois; Terry (Deanna) Johnson of Vermilion, Illinois; Gayle Dailey of Paris, Illinois and Fredia Hixson of Paris, Illinois; several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters; Dorothy Rinesmith, Joyce Smith and JoAnn Lorance.
