William C. Gossett, age 84 of Paris, passed away at 3:35 p.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Paris Health Care Center. He had been employed by Illinois Cereal Mill, Zimmerly Ready Mix, Agri Care Mays Station, and FS. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of Paris Masonic Lodge 268 AF & AM and the Edgar County Shrine Club. Born December 26, 1931 in Williamsport, Indiana, he was the son of the late Carl and Hazel (Matheny) Gossett. He married Betty Louise (Adams) Gossett November 15, 1953. She passed away September 28, 2000. Survivors include four children; Tammy (Kevin) Walton of Columbus, Indiana, Chris Fauber of Dallas, Texas, James Gossett of Paris, and Russell (Jeri) Gossett of Arizona, a sister Susie McCrocklin of Paris, nine grandchildren; Jason Elledge, Jeremy Elledge, Andrea Gossett, Christopher Gossett, Nathan Gossett, Mackenzie Gossett, Kable Walton, Kayl Walton, and Dawn Lint, five great grandchildren; Macie Lynn Gossett, Isabella Elledge, Kyler Lint, Allie Lint, and Kaleb Lint, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers, Richard Gossett and Everett Gossett, and a son-in-law Jim Fauber. Visitation for Mr. Gossett will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2016 in Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. Masonic services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home by Paris Masonic Lodge 268 AF & AM, followed by the funeral service. Burial will be in Edgar Cemetery with Military Honors provided by American Legion Post 211 and VFW Post 3601. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
