William Dennis
"Denny" Adams
October 10, 1946 – December 18, 2022
William Dennis "Denny" Adams, 76, of Paris, IL, passed away peacefully in his home on December 18, 2022, after a long battle with cancer.
Denny was born on October 10, 1946, to William Howard and Ruth Sarah (Bentley) Adams in Clinton, IN, the youngest of three children. After graduating from Clinton High School in 1964, he went on to serve honorably in the United States Navy in 1964 during the Vietnam War. At the time of being released from active duty, he had received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal. During his time in the Navy, he worked in the engine room on the ships, where he began to learn about refrigeration. Following the navy, he graduated from Indiana State University as an electrical engineer.
In their freshman year of high school, Denny met Joyce Kay (Jeffery) Adams. Married and devoted to her for 54 years, they went on to have two beloved sons, William Jeffery and Brian Dennis Adams.
After years as an electrical engineer, Denny returned to his roots in heating and air conditioning by starting Adams Heating & Air, where he proudly served Paris, IL, and the surrounding communities for years. When he wasn't working, Denny loved British television, researching natural remedies, and spending time with his family. He as known by his family for his never-ending supportiveness and wisdom, and was known by all for being kind-hearted and unassumingly funny.
Denny was predeceased by his brother, Dwight "Butch" Adams. He is survived by a loving family: his sister, Marge; his sons, Jeff (Becky) and Brian (Kelli); grandchildren, Jessica (Joe) Marie Wagner, William Michael Adams, Sydni Nicole Adams, and Jocelyn Olivia Miller; great-grandchildren, Jack and Jonah; and his wife and dog, Joyce and CiCi.
In lieu of flowers to the family, he would like to be memorialized through donations to the Paul Warner Animal Rescue, where he rescued his cherished dog Scrappy. The details for donation are listed below.
