Wanda Lee Trott age 94 of Paris, passed away at 10:25 p.m. on Monday November 2, 2020 at Paris Health Care Center.
In keeping with Federal Mandates due to COVID-19 Pandemic, the service is limited to immediate family only. Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Wanda was born May 15, 1926 the daughter of the late Carroll and Jennie Duncan Wright.
She is a 1944 graduate of Paris High School.
Wanda married Albert Trott on May 10, 1946 in Paris, Illinois. He preceded her in death on June 3, 2002.
She worked at Kurtz's Drug Store, Carli's Grocery Store, Goding Shoe Factory, Merkle Broom Company and Edgar County Savings & Loan.
Wanda became a member of the First United Methodist Church in Paris, in 1938, where she taught Sunday school for many years and was a member of the Modern Crusaders Sunday School Class.
She was a loyal supporter of the community of Paris, having been a member of the PTA, served as a chaperone and board member at the Hangar, volunteering for the FISH program, and a volunteer at Paris Community Hospital since 1986 where she was named volunteer of the year in 2013.
Wanda supported the Paris Schools throughout the years with her volunteering and attendance at the schools plays and sporting events.
She also volunteered at the Bicentennial Art Center, was one of the originators of the gift shop at Paris Community Hospital and was a member of the Edgar County Historical Society.
Wanda served as an election judge for Edgar County for over 60 years.
In recognition of all her service to the community of Paris, along with her husband, Wanda was the 1998 Paris Chamber of Commerce Parisian Award Winner.
Wanda was a charter member of the W.N.O card club, which began meeting in 1947. She and her husband Albert were also charter members of the Ball and Chain Club.
When she wasn't busy volunteering, Wanda enjoyed playing Euchre, dominoes and visiting with friends at the VFW suppers. She was the proud captain of the trivia team "Wanda's Woofers".
Wanda was proud of her volunteering and community, but most of all she was proud of her family.
She is survived by her children: Dani Lynn (Mark) Reeley of Paris, Illinois, A. Dean (Melissa) Trott of Greenbrier, Tennessee, Dale Lee (Linda) Trott of Clinton, Iowa; her grandchildren: Doug Trott of Tennessee, Stefanie Waterman of Tennessee, Hattie Trott of Iowa, Claire Trott of Iowa; her great-grandchildren: Abigail Trott and Jeffrey Waterman both of Tennessee.
Wanda was preceded in death by a step-great-granddaughter.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Paris or to the Paris Community Hospital Volunteers.
