Veronica Catherine Englum, age 89 of rural Paris, Illinois, passed away at 7:55 p.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at her residence. She was a homemaker, a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, and a member of St. Mary's Altar Society. Born April 29, 1926 in Paris, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Florence (Powers) Crum. She married Charles E. Englum September 11, 1947 in Mattoon, Illinois and he passed away September 26, 2010. Survivors include six children; Joe Englum of Paris, Illinois, Donald Englum and his wife Jan of Sycamore, Illinois, Charlene Creech and her husband Dave of Paris, Illinois, Nancy Cushman and her husband Richard of Marshall, Illinois, C. David Englum of Paris, Illinois, and Martha Irwin of Paris, Illinois, a sister Marianna Sparks of Mattoon, Illinois, ten grandchildren; Brett Creech and his wife Becky of West Lafayette, Indiana, Greg Creech and his wife Jenny of Hartford City, Indiana, Sara Velarde and her husband Vice of Geneva, Illinois, Laurel Englum of Johnston, Iowa, Trent Englum of Sycamore, Illinois, Chuck Cushman of Cookeville, Tennessee, Christin Warren of Oblong, Illinois, Steve Irwin and his wife Brittany of Paris, Illinois, Julia Irwin of Goodland, Indiana, and John Irwin of Paris, Illinois, and eight great grandchildren; Allison and Megan Creech, Ethyn and Caitlyn Warren, Margaret, Gianna, and Isabel Velarde, and Riley Creech. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two brothers, Bernard and Harold Crum. Visitation for Mrs. Englum will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, November 8 in Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home with Rosary recitation at 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 9 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. David Zimmerman officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to St. Aloysius Catholic Church or the charity of the donor's choice.
