Tommy Ray Gann, age 69 of Paris, Illinois, passed away at 8:58 a.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois. He was a mechanic at Gann Service Center and had been employed at Simonton Windows, Straight Facts Quality Control Inspection Company, Keys Fertilizer, and Bogue North America. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Mr. Gann was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Born September 20, 1947 in Paris, Illinois, he was the son of Marvin and LaDonna (Henson) Gann. He married Eileen (Butler) Gann June 30, 1988 in Henderson, Kentucky and she survives. Other survivors include his mother LaDonna Gann of Paris, Illinois, a son Chad (Brenda) Gann of Paris, Illinois, a sister Patty (Don) Mattingly of Paris, Illinois, a brother Jimmy Lee (Regina) Gann of Waynesville, North Carolina, a grandson Parker Gann of Paris, Illinois, two step-grandchildren Dakota and Kayla Simpson, both of Paris, Illinois, two step-great grandchildren Jenna and Jameson, both of Paris, Illinois, several nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father. Visitation for Mr. Gann will be held from Noon to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by American Legion Post 211 and VFW Post 3601. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
