Thomas Andrew Prouse Sr., 78, passed away at 11:03 A.M. on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois.

A visitation is scheduled from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Monday, January 20, 2025, at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home with the funeral service immediately following at the funeral home. The burial will follow at Little Grove Cemetery.

Thomas was born on July 31, 1946, in Clinton, Indiana, the son of the late George and Minnie Thomas Prouse.

He worked for many years at local sawmills as a laborer. When Thomas wasn't working, he enjoyed spending time with his brothers' riding motorcycles, taking snowmobiling trips with his family, fishing, camping, and watching his favorite western Gun Smoke. Later in life, Thomas enjoyed mowing the lawns for his elderly neighbors. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Thomas is survived by his children: Thomas (Linda) Prouse Jr. of Paris, Andy (Amy) Prouse of Paris, George (Kara) Prouse of Paris, Frank (Kim) Prouse of Paris; his grandchildren: Whitney Prouse, Justin Prouse, Alexis Prouse, Ryan (Johanna) Prouse, Brandon (Ashley) Prouse, Destanie Prouse, Bobbiesue Bapp, Brittney Hall, Takeyla Hall, Alycia Prouse, Ciera Prouse, Samantha Prouse; his 28 Great-grandchildren; his siblings: Dave Prouse of Paris, Kathy (Tom) Dolan of Paris, Christine (Shane) Clark of Charleston, IL; and his special friend: Carla Layton.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his siblings: Norman Prouse, Bill Prouse, Sue Thurman, Elsie Eslinger, Dorothy Dick, and infant twin brothers.

Memorials in Thomas' honor may be made to the Edgar County Animal Shelter.
