Thomas Eugene McDaniel Jr. age 75 of Paris, Illinois passed away at 11:45 p.m. on October 12, 2020 at his home.

In keeping with Federal Mandates due to COVID-19 Pandemic, everyone is asked to be patient and abide by the state regulation of 25 visitors with masks allowed inside the funeral home. Everyone is welcome, but we ask that you keep your visit short so that all who wish to pay their respects will be able to do so. Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

A visitation will be from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. on Friday October 16, 2020 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home in Paris, Illinois.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday October 17, 2020 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home in Paris, Illinois. Burial will follow at Edgar Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post 211.

Thomas was born February 7, 1945 in Paris, Illinois the son of the late Thomas Eugene and Hattie Marie Kritz McDaniel.

He married Linda Jean Land on April 27, 1974 in Paris, Illinois.

Thomas was a member of the U.S. Navy, serving from October 1965 until September 1969. After his military service, he was the owner of M&W Auto Repair, worked at Grace Lutheran CDC and was an Illinois Highway Maintainer.

He was a faithful member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Paris, Illinois where he had many years of perfect attendance. He was also a member of New Beginnings Church in Paris, Illinois.

Thomas was active in the community for many years through organizations like the Elks, Boy Scouts of America, Shop-With-A-Cop, bowling league, Legion Post #211, Hazzard Bros., and many volunteer hours with Blood Mobile, Beacon Stuffers, the Paris Summer Food Program, and Paris Girls Softball Association.

He is survived by his wife: Linda; his children: Suzi (Justin) McConkey of Paris, Sally McDaniel (Jeremiah Hall) of Paris; his siblings: Jerry (Jenneane) McDaniel of Paris, Becky (Harvey) Hamilton of St. Louis, Missouri; his grandchildren: Ashlan McConkey (Kyle Fillinger) of Paris, Abigail McConkey of Paris, Greta Hall of Paris, Dalton (Angel) Hall of Paris; his great-grandchildren: Emmitt, Brently and Kaylee.
