Thomas Christopher "Chris" Morris, 62, of Paris, IL passed away at 9:21 PM on Monday, May 19, 2025 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Willow Breeze Hospice House after a brief illness.

Chris played football and baseball, excelling in both. His love for sports continued throughout his life, and grew to include Nascar. One of his fondest memories was playing slow pitch softball with Larry Bird. In his early years, Chris worked in factories until he was disabled in an accident.

Chris married the love of his life, Liz (Poore) on July 23, 1990. She survives. Also surviving are his siblings: Doug (Paula), Dave, John (Renae), Mimi (Dave) Brown, and Anne Kirby; his granddaughter, Adalee Morris; and his nieces, nephews, and great-nephews. Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Dow and Nancy Morris; his oldest brother, Dow Morris; and his brother-in-law, Tony Kirby.

Chris always enjoyed playing pool at The Long Branch and never went anywhere without his camo Miller Lite cap. What Chris enjoyed most, however, were the daily cruises he took with Liz in his signature blue 1988 Chevy Silverado Choo Choo Custom.

At the end of Chris's life, his wife Liz, as well as his siblings, were with him to provide comfort and support. Chris love his family and friends (who were also like family to him), so he enjoyed all of his visits.

Chris will always be remembered for his big heart, sarcastic wit, and his loyalty to those that he loved.

Graveside service has been scheduled for 1:00 PM on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at Embarrass Cemetery near Redmon, Illinois. Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

The family is grateful for Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospice for the wonderful care Chris received. He truly appreciated their dedication. The family is also grateful for Faith in Action for the ramp they installed to assist Chris. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to either agency.
