Theodorsa "Teddy" Day, age 98, of Paris, passed away at 5:15 a.m. on Friday, July 9, 2021 at Life's Journey Senior Living Center in Paris, Illinois.
A graveside service is scheduled for 10 a.m., Monday, July 12, 2021 in Vermilion Cemetery in Vermilion, Illinois. Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Teddy was born October 5, 1922 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of the late Ray and Esther Childress Ruhmann. She married Edward Taylor Day on March 25, 1948 in Champaign, Illinois. He preceded her in death on July 30, 1989.
She was an Elementary and High School teacher and principal. Teddy was a longtime and active member of the 1 st United Methodist Church in Vermilion, as well as a member of the P.E.O and Edgar County Historical Society.
Teddy is survived by her children: Jan Michelle (Jefferey Mews) Zieren of Tazwell, Tennessee, Lee Andrea Barrett of Chrisman, Illinois; her grandchildren: Tracy Zieren (Richard Benton) of Spain, Lori Zieren of Basingstoke, England, Joshua (Erica) Barrett of Homer Glen, Illinois, Jody (Ronnie) Wagoner of Paris, Illinois, Jamy (Justin) Cearlock of Paris, Illinois, Jake (Amanda) Barrett of Paris, Illinois, her great-grandchildren: Taylor Barrett of Danville, Illinois, Cory Cearlock of Paris, Illinois, Drew Cearlock of Paris, Illinois, Raelee Wagoner of Paris, Illinois, Reese Wagoner of Paris, Illinois, Bella Barrett of Homer Glen, Illinois, Dayton Barrett of Homer Glen, Illinois, Lilly Barrett of Homer Glen, Illinois, Julia Barrett of Homer Glen, Illinois, Naomi vanIngen of Paris, Illinois, Claudia vanIngen of Paris, Illinois, Boyd Barrett of Paris, Illinois, Tatum Zieren Mason of Ma'Laga, Spain, and Elizabeth Pearl Benton of Ma'Laga, Spain.
She is also preceded in death by her brother: James Ruhmann.
