Steve Winkler age 82 of Paris, Illinois passed away at 7:24a.m. on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1:30 P.M. Friday, October 15, 2021 at Lake Ridge Christian Church in Paris, Illinois. A private burial will be held at a later date. Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Steve was born August 2, 1939 in Peoria, Illinois, the son of the late Emerson and Elizabeth Dotson Winkler.
He married Carol (Burt) Winkler on April 17, 1959 in Armington, Illinois and she survives.
Steve was the owner of Steve Winkler Automotive of Paris, Illinois, a member of Lake Ridge Christian Church, The Rotary, Chamber of Commerce, Pleasant Meadows Christian Village Board and the Men's Bible Study at Lake Ridge Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife; Carol (Burt) Winkler, his children; Debra (Mark) Miller of Minier, Illinois, Kevin (Shelley) Winkler of Olney, Illinois, Amy (Travis) Jones of Dennison, Illinois, his siblings; Thomas Winkler of Bloomington, Illinois, Sharon Swartzendruber of Minier, Illinois, Susan Litwiller of Armington, Illinois, and his grandchildren; Sarah (Bart) Rodgers of Springfield, Illinois, Matthew (Shayla) Miller of Bloomington, Illinois, Chelsey (Daniel) Bennett of Charleston, Illinois, Macy (Travis) Coffey of Charleston, Illinois, Ian Winkler of Olney, Illinois, Kristin (Daniel) Mooneyham of Paris, Illinois, Hannah Jones of Nashville, Tennessee, Bethany Jones of Dennison, Illinois, Jayden Jones of Dennison, Illinois, 2 great grandchildren; Zoe and Nolan Mooneyham of Paris, Illinois. Steve was preceded in death by his parents; Emerson and Elizabeth (Dotson) Winkler, and a sister Charlotte Sutter.
