Shirley Ann Jones, age 82 of Redmon, Illinois, passed away at 4:05 a.m. Saturday, February 24, 2018 in Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, Illinois. She was an office assistant for George Corey Tax Service and also was an EMT. She was a member of the Paris Southern Baptist Mission Church and sung in the Gospel Group The Persuaders with her husband. Shirley was a great mom and grandmother. She loved to read and garden and also loved the Cubs. She was a faithful woman, a wonderful friend to all and best friend to her daughter Lynda.

Born April 28, 1935 in Paducah, Kentucky, Shirley was the daughter of the late Fred Fox, Jr. and the late Mary Thelma (Griffith) Fox Lamb. She married Frank Anderson Jones, Jr. July 17, 1953 and he passed away February 1, 2011.

Survivors include three children; Lynda Gaye (Tim Albert) Earl of Redmon, Illinois, Hilton "Butch" (Sherri Gordon) Jones of Westfield, Illinois, and Devra Sheril Jones of Anna, Illinois, six grandchildren; Clinton (Chimere) Mitchell of Washington, D.C., Olivia Camilla (Jason) Awe of Denver, Colorado, Jacob Ryan Anderson Earl of Japan, Jordan (Megan) Jones of Chelsie, Oklahoma, Jared Andrew Earl of Texas, and Hannah Alexandria (Samuel David) Shaw of Casey, Illinois, six great grandchildren; Jalheel Mitchell, Chyah Mitchell, Samuel David Shaw III, Judah Royal Hall, Nakoma Rose Jones, and Juliana Lynn Marie Earl.
