Sarah E. Mattingly, age 78 of Paris, IL passed away at 3:00 p.m., Friday, July 28, 2017, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and St. Mary's Altar Society. She was a homemaker.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Ronald Hilt as celebrant. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home with the rosary recited at 3:30 p.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Church.

Sarah was born November 6, 1938 in Edgar County, Illinois the daughter of the late Howard Lee and Merriett Koontz Day. She married Robert E. Mattingly February 21, 1981 in Paris.

Sarah is survived by her husband Bob; her children: Sherry (John) Bowman of Albany, GA, Diana Lynn Melton of Redmon, Robert E. Morecraft, Sr. of Paris; her grandchildren: Jeremy Thomey, B.J. Thomey, Christopher Kearce, Jamacia White, Samantha White, John F. White II, Amea Morecraft, Robert E. Morecraft, Jr., Damon Morecraft; her eighteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; her siblings: Barbara Jean (Don) Allison of Royal Center, IN, Howard Lee (Rita) Day, Jr. of Port Charlotte, FL and her beloved pet Earl.
