Sandra "Sandy" Jean Robinson's Obituary

Sandra "Sandy" Jean Robinson, age 75, of Paris, Illinois passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 after her fight, and long battle with several different illnesses. Despite the battle, she never gave up.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM CST on Friday, August 1, 2025 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home in Paris. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM CST on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at the funeral home lead by Honorary Son Erik Hopkins, with burial to follow at Edgar Cemetery.

Sandy was born on September 14, 1949, in Paris, Illinois to Eugene T. Mitchaner, and Mary Ellen Knoepfel Mitchaner Pierson. She married Donald L. Robinson on September 3, 1966, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Paris, they were happily married for 58 years, and enjoyed many memories together.

Sandy was a loving and devoted mother to her two daughters while they were young and growing up. She then went to work and retired as a secretary at Robinson Accounting and Tax Service. She was a former member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Sandy was also a dedicated member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #211, and a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW 3601.

Sandy loved to collect cookie jars, and she was known at many thrift stores as the cookie jar lady. At last count she had 520 cookie jars. Sandy was a sweet lady who always thought of others before herself. Sandy was always known to send thoughtful cards for different occasions. Sandy never met a stranger, she would go run errands and be gone for over an hour because she had found someone to talk to.

A good wife, mother, and grandmother who endured lots of illness and pain, but kept going strong and never gave up the fight until she could not fight any longer.

Sandy is survived by her father Eugene T. Mitchaner of Paris, Illinois; her husband Donald L. Robinson of Paris, Illinois; her daughters, Lisa M. Robinson of Terre Haute, Indiana and Amy J. Robinson of Paris, Illinois; her granddaughters, Danielle Nicole Kimble (Kaiden), and Gretchen Marie Lance, both of Terre Haute, Indiana; her sister Janice L. Poole (Jeff) of Indianapolis, Indiana; Paul (Kerri) Robinson of Marshall, Illinois; Dolores Michael of Charleston, Illinois; her special family friends Lori Goodwin and family; Tara Hopkins and family. Sandy also had many close friends. Sandy had two beloved cats Bella and Sydney.

Sandy was preceded in death by her mother.
