Ruth Ann Short's Obituary
Ruth Ann Short, age 80 of Paris, Illinois, passed away at 4:07 p.m. Thursday, June 11, 2015 in Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, Illinois. She was an accounting bookkeeper for Illinois Department of Transportation and the Bastian Blessing Corporation. She also attended the Kansas Christian Church in Kansas and the First Assembly of God Church in Paris. Born August 18, 1934 in Kansas, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Fern (Estes) McHenry. Survivors include a daughter Denise Step and her husband Michael of Paris, Illinois, a son Drew Short and his wife Crystal of Drummonds, Tennessee, two brothers, Richard McHenry and his wife Lois of Bloomington, Illinois and Dale McHenry and his wife Judy of Lafayette, Indiana, three grandchildren; Sean Step and his wife Tammy of Charleston, Illinois, Holly Larson and her husband Don of Mt. Zion, Illinois, and Taylor Short of Drummonds, Tennessee, four great grandchildren; Madison Step, Noah Step, Robert Larson, and Isabella Larson. She was preceded in death by twelve siblings; Wayne, Helen, Paul, Dorothy, Lucille, Winona, Irma, Mary, Hazel, Junior, Forrest, and Joe. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2015 in Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Fairview Cemetery, Kansas, Illinois. Memorial contributions may be made to the Edgar County Historical Society.
