Ruth Elizabeth Sanders, age 100, of Vermilion, IL passed away at 12:32 p.m., Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at the Paris Community Hospital in Paris. She was a 1934 graduate of Paris High School and received her higher education degree by completing beauty school in Decatur. Ruth was a self-employed beautician for 75 years. She was a member of the Vermilion United Methodist Church, a life member of the Edgar County Historical Society and a member of the Edgar County Farm Bureau for 80 years.

Services are 2 p.m. Saturday, September 23, 2017 in Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home.

Visitation is from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Burial is in Vermilion Cemetery.

Ruth was born October 17, 1916 in Vermilion the daughter of the late Ernest and Nancy Dodd Walling.

She married Forster Eugene Sanders October 17, 1937 in her parent's home and he passed away August 26, 2005.

Ruth is survived by her son Joseph Eugene Sanders of Vermilion.

She was preceded in death by her brother Henry Dodd Walling March 16, 2005.
