Roberta Fiese-Boling, 81, passed away after a short illness.

A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home, in Paris, Illinois.

Roberta was born in Fresno, California, the daughter of Lloyd and Flora Fiese. She married the love of her life, Gordon Boling, on February 8, 2003.

Survivors include her sister, Rebecca Fitzgerald of Las Vegas, N. M.; her three children, Rebecca (Paul) Rodriguez Heller, Ronald Rodriguez and Rachael Contreras; her grandchildren, Jordan Rodriguez, Christian Contreras, Lucy Contreras, Matthew Contreras; and one great-grandson, Jae Logan Rodriguez.

She attended a Pasadena Nazarene boarding school for high school and graduated from Azusa Pacific College in Pasadena, California before beginning her teaching career that spanned five decades. She received a master's degree in education from the University of La Verne in La Verne, Calif. She taught middle school students in Christian and public schools around the Los Angeles area, choosing the classroom rather than administration because she felt she could touch more lives at the chalkboard than behind a desk.

Mrs. Fiese-Boling had a strong faith in Jesus her entire life and served in many churches throughout her life, most recently as a member of the welcome team at Community Bible Church in San Antonio, Texas. She served with passion in Vacation Bible School, church choirs, summer missions overseas, women's ministry and prison ministry.

She and her husband traveled to many beautiful places, and she loved Hawaii. After spending most of her life in California the couple made the move to San Antonio, Texas to be closer to family.
