Robert Eveland Jr., age 89, of Paris, Illinois, passed away peacefully at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at his home.

In keeping with State of Illinois mandates due to COVID-19 Pandemic, everyone attending the service must wear a mask while inside the funeral home. Everyone is welcome but we ask that you keep your visit short so that all who wish to pay their respects may do so.

A visitation will on Thursday, March 18, 2021 from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home in Paris, Illinois. A funeral service will follow at 2:30 p.m.

Robert was born on May 1, 1931 the son of the late Robert Eveland Sr. and Ida Rosalie (Humphrey) Eveland.

He married Shirley L. Grant at the Trinity Church in Paris, Illinois on June 20, 1954.

Robert proudly served his country in the Korean War as a member of the United States Army. After his time in the military, Robert went to work for the U.O. Colson Company in Paris, and later for Mr. and Mrs. Bob Morgan. He was also an active member of the Nevins Christian Church outside of Paris, Illinois.

He is survived by his wife: Shirley Eveland; his children: Mary Rosalie "Rosie" Butler of Paris, Illinois, Diana L. (Jim)  Carey of Paris, Illinois, Robert Lee (Melba) Eveland of Ontario, Canada; his grandchildren: Ronnie (Darla) Butler of Palestine, Illinois, Erica (Tim) Kremitzki of Paris, Illinois, Amber (Shawn Walker) Carey of Paris, Illinois, Brittany (Eric) Erwin of Paris, Illinois, Kara (TJ Brown) Eveland of Summer Town, Tennessee, Kyra Eveland of Shelbyville, Tennessee, Kayla Eveland of Shelbyville, Tennessee, Bobby Steel of Ontario, Canada; his great-grandchildren: Grace Correll of Owensboro, Kentucky, Jenna (Kassidy Duckett) Correll of Champaign, Illinois, Dalton (Payton Cloyd) Johnson of Paris, Illinois, Sky Thomas of Paris, Illinois, Devyn Kremitzki of Paris, Illinois, Addison Kremitzki of Paris, Illinois, Hailey Gill of Paris, Illinois, Tyson Gill of Paris, Illinois, Mackenzy Tibbs of Paris, Illinois, Paislee Erwin of Paris, Illinois, Bailey Erwin of Paris, Illinois, Joey Vincent of Summer Town, Tennessee, Rhiley Brown of Summer Town, Tennessee, Charleigh Cable of Shelbyville, Tennessee, Gabriel Cable of Shelbyville, Tennessee,  Alexia Brown of Summer Town, Tennessee, Makenzie Brown of Summer Town, Tennessee, Teagan Brown of Summer Town, Tennessee; his great-great-grandchild: Raelyn Johnson of Paris, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents: Robert Sr. and Ida Rosalie Eveland; his siblings: Gene Eveland, Katherine Hiddle, Marcella Johnson, Charles Eveland, James Eveland; two infant children: Randy and Brenda; and his son-in-law: Ronald Butler.

Memorials may be made to Nevins Christian Church.
