Rex Allen Brimner, age 85 of Paris, Illinois passed away at 5:00 A.M. on Sunday, January 7, 2024 with his family by his side.

Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. on Friday, January 12, 2024 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. Funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery.

Rex was born on November 20, 1938 to Norris Kay and Kathleen Dale (Camp) Brimner. He married Helen Lucille Ritchey at Bell Ridge Christian Church on September 15, 1961. She preceded him in death on April 29, 2013.

Rex served his country as a member of the United States Navy. He was self-employed, as an owner/operator of a backhoe and trenching business. He was also a lifelong member of Bell Ridge Christian Church.

He is survived by his children: Kevin Allen (Julianne) Brimner of Newburgh, Indiana, Amy Jo (Tony) Clark of Jonesboro, Arkansas; his grandchildren: Tyler Allen Clark, Ethan Eugene Clark, Dylan Jacques Clark, Isaac Allen Brimner, Elijah Kay Brimner, Naomi Marie Brimner; his great grandchildren: Elleanor, Wyatt, Jessie, Brooks, and River; and his siblings: Sharon Dyer of Paris, Illinois, Jerry Brimner of Charleston, Illinois and Terry Brimner of Charleston, Illinois.

Rex is preceded in death by his wife and his parents.

The family wishes to express gratitude for the many expressions of love and care through calls, visits, and food.
