Raymond Towell, Sr. age 86 of Paris, Illinois passed away at 9:50AM on Sunday, July 6, 2025 surrounded by family.

Graveside service will be at 2:00PM on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Edgar Cemetery in Paris, Illinois. Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Raymond was born on April 12, 1939 in Paris to Clinton and Margaret (Morris) Towell. He married Lulabelle Mae Simpson on July 8, 1957 in Terre Haute, Indiana. She preceded him in death on August 18, 2021.

Raymond was a maintenance worker for the Illinois Cereal Mill and later worked as a pipe fitter with Local 350. He was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Paris and found joy in taking road trips to the Smoky Mountains.

He is survived by his children: Teresa Lou Fontana of Ogden, Illinois, Raymond Leon Towell, Jr. of Paris, Illinois, Shannon Lee Powers of Mountain View, Missouri; his 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and one on the way.

Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, his 4 brothers, and 2 sisters.
