Ray Byrum Barry, age 93 of Paris, Illinois, passed away at 8:50 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2012 in Union Hospital, Terre Haute, Indiana. He was the Service Manager for International Harvester. Mr. Barry was a United States Army Veteran of WWII and a member of the First Church of God in Charleston, Illinois and American Legion Post 211. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved gardening. Ray loved his Lord, his country, his family, his friends, working on cars and animals, especially dogs.

Ray was born January 29, 1919 in Blytheville, Arkansas to the late Robert Lee and Jenny Lee (Osborn) Barry. He married Anita (Cox) Barry March 12, 1943 and she passed away September 13, 2007.

Survivors include his daughter Norma (Marvin) Barry Trexler of Findlay, Ohio, a sister Betty (Norman) Hambree of Carlisle, Indiana, three grandchildren; Julie (Dennis) Scott of Xenia, Ohio, Brian Trexler of Westerville, Ohio and Ken (Sharon) Trexler of Pembroke Pines, Florida, five great-grandchildren; Nicole Clampett, Dennis Scott, Kayli Trexler, Amber Scott and Bethany Scott, and six great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers Paul and Walter Barry, and two sisters Marie Miller and Helen Williams.

Visitation for Mr. Barry will be held from Noon to 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 26, 2012 in Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 26, 2012 in Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in Edgar Cemetery.
