Phylip Griffin, age 81 of Paris, Illinois, passed away at 5:57 p.m. Thursday, November 9, 2017 in Union Hospital, Terre Haute, Indiana. Mr. Griffin was a machinist for 54 years; 26 years at Stewart Wire in Paris, Illinois and 28 years at Charles Industry in Marshall, Illinois. He was a 50 year member of Masonic Lodge 268 AF & AM in Paris and a 26 year member of Danville Consistory. He also was in the National Guard. Born November 5, 1936 in Symmes Township, Edgar County, Illinois, he was the son of the late Howard and Lillie (Parsley) Griffin. He married Norma (Hollingsworth) Griffin July 7, 1959 in Clark County, Illinois and she survives. Other survivors include two brothers, Jim Griffin and his wife Betty and Ralph Griffin and his wife Betty, both of Paris, Illinois, his twin sister Phylis Brooks and her husband Russell of Paris, Illinois, a sister-in-law Betty Griffin of Casey, Illinois, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother John Russell Griffin, and a sister Alice Marietta. Visitation for Mr. Griffin will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home with Masonic services at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 13, 2017 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. Burial will be in Edgar Cemetery.
