Patsy Charlotte (Brown) Jared of Paris, Illinois passed away at
9:52 A.M. on Sunday, December 18, 2022 at her home
surrounded by her family.

Visitation will be on Monday, January 16, 2023 from 5:00 P.M. to
7:00 P.M. at St. Mary's Church, with the Rosary preceding at 4:30.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at
11:00 A.M. at the church. Burial will follow in Edgar Cemetery.

Patsy was born on March 26, 1942 in Terre Haute, Indiana. She is
the daughter of the late Harry E. and Jean M. (Blanford) Brown.
Patsy attended St. Mary's School, Paris High School, Illinois State
University for her bachelor's in education, and later Indiana State
University for her master's in library science. She married Charles
B. Jared on August 17, 1979 in Rockford, Illinois, and he survives.

Patsy was a teacher and librarian at Crestwood School. She
launched Pioneer Days, the gifted program, and assisted with the
start of the reading assistance program. Patsy was active in all
levels of education. After retirement from teaching, she expanded
her career further. She got her license as a real estate appraiser
and worked in this for 4-5 years. Also after retirement, she took up
another teaching position at Miss Izzi's Preschool. Miss Izzi's
Preschool was founded by her daughter and named for her
granddaughter, so the job allowed her to combine two of her
passions, education and family. She loved flowers and gardening,
eventually becoming a Master Gardener and a member of the
Paris Garden Study Club. Patsy was a longtime and active
member at St. Mary's Church and school in Paris. Patsy started a
recycling program in Paris and spearheaded the use of the
aquifer water system that is used today. Most of all, she loved
being a wife, mom, and nana for her family.

She is survived by her children: Aimee (Ian) Moore of Effingham,
IL, and their children (Isabel Moore of Lexington, KY, Sophia
Moore of Springfield, IL and Eli Moore of Effingham, IL); Bryce
Sutton of Silver Spring, MD; Cyd (Bob) Wolf and their children
(Olivia and Caroline Wolf all of Burlington, VT); Joell (Eddie)
Barrientes and their children (Wyatt and Chloe Barrientes all of
Houston, TX); her sisters, Chris (David) Kase of Rockford, IL, and
Barrett Brown of St. Louis, MO.

Patsy is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, John
Patrick Brown.
