Patricia J. Spillman's Obituary
Patricia J. Spillman, age 80 of Paris, Illinois, passed away at 6:28 p.m. Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Paris Community Hospital. Mrs. Spillman was the Executive Director of the Edgar County Housing Authority. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Mary's Altar Society, was the Treasurer of Paris Community Hospital Volunteers and worked in the Gift Shop at the Hospital. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary and the Republican Women's Club. She enjoyed wintering in Florida and visiting the gambling boat on the way. She was an avid sports fan, following the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, and the University of Illinois Fighting Illini. Born March 26, 1937 in Gary, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Harry A. and Martha (Reed) Downs. She married Monte Spillman June 7, 1958 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Paris and he survives. Also surviving are a daughter Denise (Drew) Bernabei of Spring Valley, Illinois, a sister Pamela (Jim) Fleming of Paris, Illinois, and a brother Billy Bob (Connie) Downs of Paris, Illinois. She was preceded in death by three brothers; Donald, Terry, and Harry, Jr. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 26, 2017 in Edgar Cemetery. Visitation will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to a scholarship fund being set up in Patricia's name at Prospect Bank in Paris.
