Pamela Sue McCarty, age 68 of Paris, Illinois passed away at 4:05 PM on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Kindred Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Services will be held at a later date. Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Pam was born on October 29, 1957, to Ralph William “Bill” and Shirley (Bell) Mood. She married Troy McCarty and he survives.

Pam worked for 16 years at NAL and also worked at Walmart and Rural King. She loved her cats, especially watching them outside as they explored, and found joy in observing birds and simple beauty of nature.

She is survived by her husband: Troy McCarty; her children: Melanie Winkleblack, Stephanie Doran; her mother: Shirley Mood; her grandchildren: Christopher, Cody, Austin, Logan, Hailie, Natalie, Dayiman, Alyah, and Makayla; and her 3 great grandchildren.

Pam is preceded in death by her daughter, Melissa Myles; and her father, Bill Mood.

Memorial contributions in memory of Pam may be made to Edgar County Humane Association.
