Nancy Kay Richert's Obituary

Nancy Kay Richert, age 79 of Paris, Illinois and formerly of Grosse Pointe, Michigan and White Fish Bay, Wisconsin, passed away at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2019 at Twin Lakes Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. She was a homemaker and a member of Grace Lutheran Church.  She had a beautiful voice and was a featured singer in church choirs throughout her adult life.  She particularly enjoyed performing in Easter Cantatas.  She loved children and pets and was always willing to open her home to both.  She will be remembered for being generous of her time and treasure.  She took great joy in her volunteer work at the Grace Lutheran Child Development Center.

Born April 17, 1939 in Paris, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Barbara (Twigg) Crawford. She married Thomas A. Richert in 1973; he passed away September 18, 1997.  Survivors include a son Steven (Kara) Jones of Paris, Illinois, three daughters; Kimberly Jones of Grosse Pointe, Michigan, Julie (Ken) West of Stephens City, Virginia, and Cheryl (Gary) Mackay of St. Charles, Missouri, a step-son Tom (Dina) Richert of Westford, Massachusetts, two sisters, Janet Switzer of Paris, Illinois and Jean Rappe of Overland Park, Kansas, twelve grandchildren; Christopher (Cassandra) Waigand of San Francisco, California, Alexandra Francis of New York, New York, Jacqueline Kay Francis of Champaign, Illinois, John Francis, Jr. of Grosse Pointe, Michigan, Ryan (Stephanie) Jones of Paris, Illinois, Lauren (Joe) Green of St. Louis, Missouri, Heather Mackay of St. Charles, Missouri, Jacob West of Stephens City, Virginia, Joshua Jones of Paris, Illinois, Craig Jones of Paris, Illinois, Ty Jones of Paris, Illinois, and Christina Richert of Westford, Massachusetts, and one great granddaughter Elizabeth Jones of Paris, Illinois.  She was preceded in death by a son David Jones and a brother Glen Evard, Jr.

Visitation for Mrs. Richert will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Daniel Smith officiating.  Burial will follow in Hoult Cemetery, near Chrisman, Illinois.  Memorial contributions in her name may be made to Grace Lutheran Church or the Parkinson's Foundation.  For further information and online condolences, please visit www.stewartandcarrollfuneralhome.com .
