Nancy Rose Hukill, age 77 of rural Paris, passed away at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at her residence. She was a homemaker, farm wife, and worked in housekeeping at Paris Community Hospital. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Mary's Altar Society, and was a Eucharistic minister at St. Mary's. Born July 4, 1938 in Kansas, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Layle and Evelyn (Branner) Smitley. She married William Francis Hukill April 21, 1958 at St. Mary's Catholic Church and he passed away April 22, 2011. Survivors include six children; Teresa Ann (Ed Vrzina) Bach of Redmon, William Joseph Hukill of Indianapolis, Robert "Francis" (Cindy) Hukill of Paris, Mary Kathryn (David) Vlahos of Paris, James Fredrick Hukill of Paris, and Alma Marie Ray of Murdock, one brother Fred (Cheryl) Smitley of Pesotum, one half-sister Kitie Lee Trammel of Las Vegas, fourteen grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren. Visitation for Mrs. Hukill will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, November 23 in Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home with Rosary recitation at 4:00 p.m. Monday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 24 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. David Zimmerman officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Altar Society.
