Melissa Marie Tarcissus (Vaught) Keller, age 40 of Paris, Illinois, passed away at 7:44 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at her residence. She was a server at Crossroads Cafe. Melissa avidly loved hunting and fishing, playing softball, mushroom hunting, and rock hunting. She was a happy-go-lucky girl who loved animals and embraced life. She also played the piano well. Born January 16, 1977 in Paris, she was the daughter of Janet Sue Vaught. She married Darwin Drew Keller December 17, 2014 and he survives. Other survivors include her mother Janet Sue Vaught of Paris, Illinois, a son Sam (Lisa) Keller of Paris, Illinois, a grandson Lane Keller of Paris, Illinois, aunts; Judy Brooks of Glendale, Arizona, Jeannie Jones of Paris, Illinois, Joan (Harold) Weber of Terre Haute, Indiana, and Mary (Terry) Strickland of Plainfield, Indiana, an uncle George (Deb) Vaught of Bloomington, Illinois, a great-aunt Josephine Agnes Dressman of Madison, Ohio, a sister-in-law Colleen Keller of Mattoon, Illinois, and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Joe and Marie Vaught. Memorial visitation for Melissa will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, April 24, 2017 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home with Rosary recitation at 3:30 p.m. Monday. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Ronald Hilt officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Edgar County Humane Association.
