Mary Yuza, age 101 of Paris, Illinois, passed away at 8:40 p.m. Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Paris Health Care Center in Paris. Mrs. Yuza was a model for Form Fit in Chicago before her marriage, and then she was a homemaker and a volunteer cook at St. Mary's School for 12 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Mary's Altar Society, and the Grandmother's Club.
Born August 9, 1918 in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Sternal) Rog. She married Joseph John Yuza, Sr. April 15, 1939 at the Good Shepherd Church in Chicago, Illinois. Mr. Yuza passed away February 15, 2006. Survivors include four children; Joseph John "Joe" (Beth)Yuza, Jr. of Wichita, Kansas, John Joseph Yuza of Paris, Illinois, Jeffrey (Joan) Yuza of Lakewood Ranch, Florida, and Mary Jo (Larry) Edens of Ada, Oklahoma, seven grandchildren; Joe (Kara) Yuza III of Wichita, Kansas, Steve Yuza of Chanute, Kansas, Mike (Jenifer) Yuza of Wichita, Kansas, Jennifer (Francois) Einwaechter of Bradenton, Florida, Logan (Jessica) Edens of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Laramie Edens of Ada, Oklahoma, and Cullen Edens of Ada, Oklahoma, and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter Janice Jean Yuza, three sisters; Sophie Rog, Josephine Zitney, and Clara Cygan, and one grandchild, Clayton Edens.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 5:30 p.m. Monday, December 16, 2019 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Paris with Rev. Fr. Valery Burusu as celebrant. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until service time Monday in the gathering space at the church. Entombment will be in Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum in Justice, Illinois 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 17, 2019. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Paris.
