Mary Elizabeth Hale, age 70 of Paris, Illinois, passed away at 10:28 a.m. Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, Illinois. She was a retail clerk at K-Mart. Mary was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Mary's Altar Society, was a volunteer at soup kitchens and the Compassionate Clothing Closet, and was a care giver. She enjoyed quilting, making prayer blankets, and spending time with her family and friends. Born August 31, 1946 in Paris, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Martha (McCullough) Ogle. She married Sonny Hale September 3, 1994 in Paris, and he survives. Other survivors include six children; John Robert Knoll II of Crestview, Florida, Mary Ellen (Tommy) Moore of Oak Harbor, Washington, James (Melinda) Knoll of Crestview, Florida, Marcia (Jimmy) Johnson of Crestview, Florida, Jeff Knoll of Crestview, Florida, and Melinda Yates of San Antonio, Texas, three step-children; Rhonda Parker of Marshall, Illinois, Randy (Sheri) Hale of Paris, Illinois, and Cherie Hammonds of Paris, Illinois, a brother James Ogle of Paris, Illinois, two sisters, Jeanette (David) Findley of Florissant, Missouri and Theresa (Craig) Thomason of Navarre, Florida, nine grandchildren; Megan Johnson, Cory Knoll, Justin Knoll, John Knoll III, Madelin Knoll, Zachary Yates, Jesse Johnson, Jacob Johnson, and Spencer Yates, six step-grandchildren; Keith Parker, Kayla Certain, Andrew Hale, Nathan Hale, Jessie Lynn Powell, and Julian Powell, and eleven step-great grandchildren. Visitation for Mrs. Hale will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2016 in Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home with Rosary recitation at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2016 in St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Ronald Hilt officiating. Burial will follow in North Arm Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Food Pantry or Compassionate Clothing Closet.
