Mary Frances Fruin, age 102 of Paris, passed away at 5:53 p.m. Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Paris Health Care Center. Mary Frances was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Mary's Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of America, and was very active in St. Mary's School, Home Extension and 4-H. Mary Frances loved her children, grandchildren, working at their country retreat, quilting, and sewing. Born July 22, 1915 in Mattoon, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Mereice and Mary Elise (Doepel) Barth. She married Roger J. Fruin June 18, 1940 in Mattoon, Illinois. Roger passed away October 11, 2002. Survivors include three children; Nancy (John) Fluss of Edwardsville, Illinois, Karen Todd of Paris, and Mary Jeanne (Ed) Morrison of Terre Haute, Indiana, eight grandchildren; Tony (Heather) Bertauski, Ted (Amy) Bertauski, Angie (Bill) Pierce, Carrie (Stacy) Witmer, Ryan Smith, Marissa (David) Northam, Jesse Cooper and Joshua Cooper, Great-grandchildren; Benjamin and Madeline Bertauski, Cameren, Riley, and Nicholas Bertauski, Sunni Ann and Hallie Pierce, Chelsea and Mariah Witmer, Lynzy and Nathan Smith, Maridian Comer, Isabella Cooper, and Hudson Northam, Step-grandsons; Jim Todd, Cully Todd, Terry Hoult, and Sean Todd, and step-great-grandchildren Tim Todd and Eva Marie (Chris) Jurinek, and Devyn and Ian Hoult. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son John Mark Fruin at birth in 1941, four brothers; Robert, Richard, William, and James Barth, and two sisters Joan and Ruth Barth. Visitation for Mary Frances will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2017 in the gathering space at St. Mary's Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 21 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Ronald Hilt celebrating the mass. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
