Mary Lou Fowler, age 80 of Carmel, Indiana and formerly of Paris, Illinois, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Sunrise Senior Living, Carmel, Indiana. She was the office manager for Fowler State Farm Insurance Agency. Mary Lou was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Paris. She had been a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, an active PTA member, a Junior Women's Club member, and was a former Girl Scout Leader. She enjoyed bowling very much and for several years bowled in the Tuesday Night Ladies League for the Hiatt Distributing Team. She went on several yearly bowling trips. When she moved to Sunrise Senior Living, she organized a Wii bowling league. Mary Lou enjoyed being around people, especially her family. She liked to tell jokes, was known for always having a smile on her face, and loved to laugh. She was a firm believer in Happy Hour. Born May 1, 1935 in Marshall, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Merle and Ruth (Hale) Sprague. She married George Thomas Fowler January 16, 1954 in Paris. George passed away September 20, 2004. Survivors include three daughters; Christie Fowler of Carmel, Indiana, Dee Ann Fowler Graham and her husband Jon of Carmel, Indiana, and Lise' Fowler Vale and her husband Ken of Cypress, Texas, a sister Jill Parrinello and her husband Phil of Detroit, Michigan, six grandchildren; Ashley Graham, Abby Custer and her husband Nathan, Aimee Duke and her husband Bryan, Daniel Graham and his wife Emma, Timothy Vale, and Iain Vale, three great grandchildren; Kya Harrison, Eisley Custer, and Jude Custer, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister Barb Wallace. Visitation for Mary Lou will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2016 in Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 25, 2016 in Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Bethany Cemetery in Marshall, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to Twin Lakes All Abilities Playground.
