Mary Austa DeWitt, 98 of Paris, IL formerly of Mt. Vernon passed away at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday August 12, 2015 at Paris Community Hospital.

Services for Mrs. DeWitt are private with private burial in Fairview Cemetery, Kansas.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Paris.

Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church.

Mary was born November 19, 1916 in Wayne City, IL the daughter of the late John T. and Jennie Reese Anderson Tolbert.

She married William R. (Bill) DeWitt February 26, 1939 in Princeton, IN and he passed away January 5, 1996.

Mary is survived by her children: Jon J. (Asuncion) DeWitt of Paris, Nora Jane (Don) Seely of Ft. Wayne, IN; her grandchildren: Gail DeWitt (David) Levstek of Avon, IN, Craig (Jennifer) Seely of Ft. Wayne, IN, Kyle (Cristina) Seely of Carmel, IN and 7 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sister Leah May Hutchison in 1990.
