Marvin L. Updegraff, Jr., age 86 of Stevens Point, Wisconsin and formerly of Paris, Illinois, passed away at 10:40 p.m. Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Portage County Health Care Center in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. He was a postal clerk. Mr. Updegraff was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Paris and American Legion Post 211 in Paris. Born April 8, 1929 in Kansas, Illinois, he was the son of the late Marvin and Heathy (Kuhn) Updegraff. He married Dorothy M. Chrzan August 6, 1953 in Rogers City, Michigan. Dorothy passed away May 7, 2010. Survivors include two children, Theodore L. Updegraff and his wife Bonnie of Woodstock, Illinois and Maryanne T. Broderick and her husband Don of Plover, Wisconsin, a brother Larry L. Updegraff and his wife Linda of Newman, Illinois, three grandchildren; Meredith Dietschweiler of Pell Lake, Wisconsin, Stephanie Updegraff of Trevor, Wisconsin and Myndy Perry and her husband Troy of Trevor, Wisconsin and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a sister Janet Pinnell. Visitation for Mr. Updegraff will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2015 in Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home in Paris. Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 25, 2015 in the First United Methodist Church in Paris with Rev. Gary Fairchild officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Paris with Military Honors provided by American Legion Post 211 and VFW Post 3601. Memorial contributions may be made to the Compassionate Food Pantry.
