Martha Etta Elam's Obituary
Martha Etta Elam, age 90 of Paris, Illinois passed away at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 26, 2015 in Paris Health Care Center, Paris, Illinois. She was a co-owner of Elam's Fresh Made Ice Cream Store in Paris. She also was employed at Kook and Link Drug Store. Born August 18, 1924 in Paris, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Alva Clayton and Viola (Dalton) Griffith. She married James Elam August 2, 1941 in Paris and he survives. Other survivors include three children, Mary Ann McClarey of Paris, Illinois, James Elam and his wife Jeanette of Las Vegas, Nevada and Mike Elam and his wife Sharon of Las Vegas, Nevada, five grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter Pam Cassady and a grandson-in-law Andy Shotts. Visitation for Mrs. Elam will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2015 in Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Edgar Cemetery.
