Martha Eveland Dickey, age 94 of Paris, Illinois passed away after a short illness at Pleasant Meadows Senior Living in Chrisman, Friday Feb. 27, 2015. She was born Sept. 14, 1920 in Annapolis, Illinois to Oren Elwood Eveland and Cora Alice (Slusser) Eveland. Survivors include her son James C. Dickey, Jr., her daughter-in-law Tonya Deem Dickey and her precious granddaughter Rebekah Erin Dickey all of Paris. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, James C. Dickey, Sr., her mother and father, her five sisters; Phyllis Butler, Grace Lamb, Marge Humerickhouse, Venita Eveland and Hazel Eveland, her sister-in-law Mary Fairchild and a brother-in-law Glen Dickey.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, March 4, 2015 in Stewart Carroll Funeral Home. Kevin Levellie, evangelist of Nevins Christian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Edgar Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at the funeral home.
Martha worked at the U.O. Colson Company for over 40 years as a team leader in the finishing department, making many life-long friends from that job. She was proud to be a member of the Colson 20 year club. She was an active member of the Nevins Christian Church. She enjoyed cooking, playing a mean game of hearts with her husband and son, attending church activities and spending time with her family and friends
