Marilyn Jo Martin, age 88, of Paris, Illinois passed away at 9:20 P.M. on Thursday, October 20, 2022 in Paris Healthcare Center.
Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. Funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home with burial in Vermilion Cemetery.
Marilyn was born on February 10, 1934 in Paris, Illinois. She is the daughter of the late David and Mary Alice (Good) Ashley. She married Robert E. Martin in Paris on August 18, 1951. He preceded her in death on December 20, 2000.
Marilyn held many jobs outside her home including Lewis Grocery, Zenith, Eisner Grocery, Paragraphs, and was an in home care giver. She was a longtime and active member at 1 st United Methodist Church. Marilyn was a member of the Genealogy Society of Illinois. She collected buttons and enjoyed crosstitch. Marilyn also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and making Sunday dinner and she loved to travel.
She is survived by her daughter: Pamela Sue (Donald) Burton of Danville, Illinois; her daughter-in-law, Karen Martin of Terre Haute, Indiana; her grandchildren: Andy Pachciarz of Las Vegas, Nevada, Patrick Pachciarz of Plainfield, Illinois, Jennifer (Joe) Garrett, of Hoopeston, Illinois, Becky Burton of Hoopeston, Illinois; her great grandchildren: Emily Pachciarz, Owen, Blaize, Skyler, Ashton; her special nieces: Pam Ashley of Columbia, Ohio, and Sandra LaPorte of Indian Head Park, Illinois.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her son, Ronald Dean Martin; her sister: Ann Ashley; her brother: Dave Ashley; her half-brother and half-sister, and her great grandchild Bailee Burton.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or 1 st United Methodist Church.
