Marian H. Yontz's Obituary
Marian H. Yontz, age 85 of Paris, Illinois, passed away at 12:20 p.m. Monday, December 18, 2017 at Paris Community Hospital. Mrs. Yontz was a Home Economics teacher at Paris High School and Mayo School and she was the Junior Class Sponsor for several years at the High School. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Paris and served on various church groups over the years. She also was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and the Illini Rebounders Club. Born January 30, 1932 in Redmon, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Russell Jennings and Maud (Tribby) Henn. She married Karl W. Yontz, Jr. October 24, 1954 in the Presbyterian Church in Paris; he passed away April 3, 2011. Survivors include a son K.W. Yontz III and his wife Cindy of Paris, two daughters Camille S. Novy of New Berlin, Illinois, and Sarah Penczek and her husband Jeff of Paris, a sister Marjorie Erkenbeck of Decatur, Illinois, five grandchildren; Amanda Figge and her husband Luke of Chatham, Illinois, Cassandra Novy and her fianceé Ben Frederickson of St. Louis, Missouri, and Tyler Penczek, Ross Penczek, and Meredith Penczek, all of Paris, one step granddaughter Trina Bartley and her husband Chad of Paris, one great-grandchild Oliver Figge, two step great-grandchildren Eian Bartley and Eryn Bartley, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation for Mrs. Yontz will be held from 10:00 a.m. to Noon Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Noon Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. Following the service, cremation is planned. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to Paul Warner Animal Rescue, Edgar County Humane Association, or the Presbyterian Church of Paris.
