Lulabelle Mae Towell, age 79, of Paris, passed away at 3:10 a.m. Wednesday, August 18, 2021 in Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

A visitation will be from 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home in Paris, Illinois. A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home, with burial following in Edgar Cemetery in Paris, Illinois.

Lulabelle was born June 17, 1942 in Paris, Illinois the daughter of the late Seymour Bert Simpson and Margaret Rosenburg Simpson.

She married Raymond Towell on July 8, 1957 in Terre Haute, Indiana. He survives.

Lulabelle was a homemaker and a longtime and active member of the Bethel Mission Church-Apostolic Faith in Paris, Illinois.

She is survived by her children: Teresa Lou Fontana of Paris, Illinois, Ray Towell Jr. of Paris, Illinois, Shannon Lee Powers of Mountain View, Missouri; her grandchildren: Daniel C. Thompson of Marshall, Illinois, Aleshia Renea Kakik of Paris, Illinois, Miranda McMahan of Paris, Illinois, Erik Towell of Charleston, Illinois, Chasity Schoenhofen of West Plains, Missouri, Jessica Powers of Cherokee Village, Arkansas; her 8 great-grandchildren; and her sister: Betty Garner of Paris, Illinois.

Lulebelle is preceded in death by her siblings: Robert W. Simpson, Mildred A. Wofford, Susan Ann Harris; her half siblings: Anna May Fitzsimmons, William B. Simpson, and Charles Simpson.
