Lorine B. Gilbert's Obituary

Lorine Bertha Gilbert, age 92 of Paris, passed away at 12:34 a.m. Sunday, December 20, 2015 at her residence. She was a waitress and also worked at TRW. She was a member of Lakeridge Christian Church. She was a true "country girl". She loved country music, dancing, especially polka, working in her yard with the honeysuckle and red roses, or just sitting quietly in the swing. Her children, grandchildren, and family were her most precious and prized gifts along with her fur babies, Lisa and Junebug. She was the "yard sale queen"! Clocks of all kinds adorned the walls of every room in her home which was as beautifully decorated as any gift shop in the world. She displayed each treasure as if it were precious gold. She made the best green beans and fried half-moon pies that could rival any chef. She loved feeding everyone who came to visit and the family picnics at twin lakes were the best. She bravely raised five children primarily as a single mother and instilled honesty, loyalty and integrity to each. She was a wonderful mother and friend, always ready and willing to hold your hand and listen. Her lavender thunderbird reflected her youthful spirit. Everyone will forever miss her gentle, kind, loving nature and that beautiful smile. Born February 10, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Walter Lee and Eddie Mae (Walker) Jones. She married Frank Gilbert June 12, 1964 in Marshall, he passed away December 16, 1997. Survivors include her children; Shelby Jean (John) Evitt of Paris, Vivian (Ed) Delashmit of Paris, Patricia Shackelton of Rochester, New York, Stanley (Marilyn) Beschorner of Paris, and Cindy (Keith) Cox of Paris, one sister Daisy Richardson of Allerton, sixteen grandchildren, thirty-seven great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, Golie Lucas and Ella Jones, and one great grandchild. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 23 in Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with Bro. Karl Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
