Leonard Arthur Magers's Obituary

Leonard Arthur "Lenny" Magers, age 71 of Port Charlotte, Florida and formerly of Paris, Illinois, passed away February 25, 2020 at the Naples Community Hospital in Naples, Florida. Mr. Magers graduated from Paris High School in 1966, was a graduate of St. Louis College of Pharmacy, and served in the United States Coast Guard. He was a Pharmacist and while living in Paris he was the owner of Lenny's Pharmacy and managed the Paris Clinic Pharmacy. He retired from Naples Community Hospital in Naples, Florida. Lenny truly enjoyed living in Florida with the great weather and always had a water view. He loved cruising, coin collecting, working on Genealogy of both his own family tree and also the family tree of his wife Susie, and working in his newly constructed "Man Cave". He really liked visiting and touring London with the cousin he found through genealogy and always wanted to go back.

Born November 22, 1948 in Marion, Indiana, he was the son of Russell Leon Magers and Minnie Irene (Smith) Magers. He married Julia Lynn "Susie" Wiese on July 26, 1969 in Paris and she survives.   Also surviving are two sons, Matthew Todd Magers of Port Charlotte, Florida and Douglas Ryan (Colleen) Magers, of Naples, Florida, five grandchildren; Cade Adam Magers, Zia Dublin Magers, and Jax John Magers, all of Naples, Florida, and Phoebe Ann Magers and Greyson Nicholas Magers, both of Efland, North Carolina, two siblings, Adonna Bennett and William (Mary Ann) Magers, both of Paris, Illinois and a sister-in-law Gloria Magers of Paris, Illinois. He was preceded in death by a son Adam Joseph Magers, a brother Russell C. Magers, and his parents, Russell Leon Magers and Minnie Irene Magers Henson.

Visitation for Mr. Magers will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2020 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 2, 2020 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Edgar Cemetery with Military Honors provided by American Legion Post 211.
