Leo Wilbur Adams age 89, of Paris, Illinois formerly of Bonita Springs, Florida passed away at 7:36 P.M. on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 surrounded by family.
Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. Funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home. Burial will be in Edgar Cemetery.
Leo was born on November 25, 1933 in Lakewood, Illinois to Bill and Dora Evelyn (Hunter) Adams. He married Shirley June Thacker on May 19, 1956 in Shelbyville, Illinois. She preceded him in death on February 5, 2014.
Leo was a landscaper, and he served his country as a member of the United States Army in the Korean War.
He was a longtime and active member of First Assembly of God church in Paris, when he moved to Florida he served at Springs of Bonita church in Bonita Springs, Florida. He enjoyed woodworking, making everything from scratch as well as oil painting. He also enjoyed tending to his garden and flowers, and fishing. Above all else, he loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his children: Brenda Kay (Donnie) Wright of Paris, Illinois, James Leo Adams of Bonita Springs, Florida; his 4 grandchildren: Matt (Violet) Wright, Heath Wright, Heather (Ryan) Crippes, Heidi (Nick) Hutchings all of Paris, his 10 great grandchildren: Violet Wright, Brady, Carter, Alexis, and Stella Crippes, Madison, Mason, Mackenzie, Madox, and Marcus Hutchings; and his siblings: John (Betty) Adams of Shelbyville, Illinois, Lonnie (Barb) Adams of Gobles, Michigan, Lela Jean (Harry) Brown of Indian Town, Florida, and Deanna Hammond of Indian Town, Florida.
Leo is preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and 2 brothers.
Memorials may be made to the Paul Warner Animal Rescue.
