LaFern Nadine Babcock, age 92 of Paris, IL passed away at 8:45 a.m. Friday, January 26, 2018 at Union Hospital, Terre Haute, Indiana. Mrs. Babcock was an Export Coordinator for the Illinois Cereal Mill for 32 years and also worked at Horace Link Furniture Store for 5 years. She was a two-time Past Matron of Paris Chapter 7 of the Order of the Eastern Star. Born November 8, 1925 in Paris, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Earl and VaLena (Hollis) Brown. She married Thomas R. Babcock, Jr. on November 4, 1943 in Paris and he passed away March 31, 2017. Survivors include a great niece Barbara (Carroll) Ford of Kinmundy, Illinois and a dear friend Judy (Eric) Alieff of Paris. LaFern was preceded in death by her daughter Earlena Sue Gordon. Visitation for Mrs. Babcock will be held at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday January 30, 2018. Order of the Eastern Star services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday followed by the funeral service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Edgar Cemetery.
