Ladonna Joan Campbell's Obituary

LaDonna Joan (Miller) Campbell, 86, passed away peacefully in Terre Haute, Ind., at 10:10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2017.

Joan was born on February 5, 1931, in Paris, Ill., to Floyd A. Miller and Lura Mae Brading. She married Robert 'Bob' Franklin Campbell on May 17, 1947, in Marshall, Ill. The couple had eight children, and their home during the holidays was always full of family and the aroma of Joan's famous homemade noodles.

For many years, she owned a beauty salon in Paris. After their retirement, Bob and Joan moved to Sebring, Fla., where they owned and operated a bed and breakfast. In their free time, they enjoyed bicycling and travelling around the country in their motorhome. In 2009, they returned to Paris to be closer to their family and were members of Lake Ridge Christian Church in Paris.

Joan is survived by her brother Jim (Erika) Miller of Wilmington, N.C., and by seven of her children: Judy (Del) Pufahl of Paris, Ill.; Mike (Glenda) Campbell of Lenoir City, Tenn.; LaDonna (Gerald) McBride of Lake Dallas, Texas; Tina (Keith) Hefner of Marshall, Ill.; Doug (Debbie) Campbell of Essexville, Mich.; Susanna Campbell of North Plains, Ore.; and Ken (Nisa) Campbell of Indianapolis, Ind. She is also survived by dozens of loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert 'Bob' Campbell; her daughter Debra (Campbell) Treudt; her father, Floyd A. Miller; her mother, Lura Mae (Brading) Miller; and her siblings Mary Miller, Hila Miller, Gladys (Miller) Black, Viola Miller, Leona 'Tiny' (Miller) Boyd, Floyd Miller, Jr., Helen (Miller) Stone, Margaret (Miller) Kiifner, and Norma 'Jane' (Miller) Rhode.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home in Paris, IL. The visitation will be Tuesday from 9:00 - 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be announced at a later date.

Her family wishes to give special thanks to Marquita Lee and the rest of the staff at Meadows Manor East for their kind and attentive care of Joan for the last two and a half years.
