Kathryn Janet Kirsch, 91, passed away on Tuesday February 15, 2022 at 7:30 p.m. at Horizon Health in Paris, Illinois. Janet was born June 15, 1930 to Russell and Oral (Graham) Forsythe in Terre Haute, Indiana. They preceded her in death long with her sisters Ida Rose and Joanna, as well as a brother Donnie.

She married the love of her life, Robert Kirsch, on February 9, 1952. He preceded her in death October 27, 1999 but the love never ended.

Surviving are two sons: Mark (Joyce Huntington) of Fishers, Indiana and David (Debra) of Paris, Illinois. Three grandchildren: Nicholas (Emily) of Westfield, Indiana, Courtney (Kevin) Kopshever of Waterloo, Illinois, and Zachary (Janelle) Spoerner of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Seven great-grandchildren: Kayleigh and Madelyn Kirsch, Mya and Kaden Kopshever, and Connor, Declan, and Bennett Spoerner. Brothers: Jack Forsythe (Katie) and Wayne Forsythe (Nancy) of Terre Haute, Indiana. Sisters: Arnid Caples (Jim) of Pensacola, Florida, and Nancy Wilson of Terre Haute, Indiana, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Janet always loved music. She performed the first time in public at the age of five. She sang with the Bill Riedel Orchestra around the Terre Haute area, including the Mayflower Room at the Terre Haute House. She was a part of the Triad as well as the Sweet Adaline's, took part in Terre Haute Community Theater and sang in various church choirs.

Janet and Bob loved to travel and she continued to do so after his passing with friends and family.

She volunteered for several years at Union Hospital through the Chaplin's office as well as Newcomers and Home Extension. A love of baking and embroidery lasted her entire life.

Her life was full but made fuller by her Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Paris, Illinois and her faith was a big part of her life.

A visitation will be Saturday, February 19, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home in Paris, Illinois. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 P.M. Burial will follow the funeral at Edgar Cemetery in Paris, Illinois.
