Katherine L. Young, age 84 of Metcalf, Illinois, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana. She was a homemaker and a member of the Apostolic Faith Church in Danville, Illinois.

Born January 28, 1936 in Batesville, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Jess J. and Havel (Hollaway) Burns. She married Jessie James Young September 2, 1952 in Paris; he passed away July 4, 2003.  Survivors include her children; Jimmie J. (Jane) Young of Bedford, Indiana, Phyllis C. (Jerry) Richardson of Hume, Illinois, David N. (Arlene) Young of Waskom, Texas, Dorothy A. Harvell (Steve) of Hoopeston, Illinois, and Christopher C. Young of Metcalf, Illinois, four siblings; Jenni Tyler of Foley, Alabama, Rachael Brown of Paris, Illinois, Janet Thomas of Richland, Mississippi, and Robert Burns of Paris, Illinois, eighteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two sisters, Wanda Wright and Dorothy Thomas.

A graveside service for Katherine will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 14, 2020 at Young America Cemetery in Hume, Illinois.
