Karen Sue McCarty, age 68, of Paris, passed away at 6:49 p.m. on Sunday, December 5, 2021 in her residence.

No services are scheduled for this time. Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Karen was born on March 30, 1953, in Paris, Illinois, the daughter of the late William Thomas and Evelyn Maxine Idleman Asbury.

She married Dwight Dale McCarty on December 18, 1970, at the Paris 1 ^st Church of the Nazarene in Paris, Illinois. He survives.

Karen was a telephone operator as well as a long time and active member of the Paris 1 ^st Church of the Nazarene in Paris, Illinois.

She is survived by her siblings: Linda (Ron) Turner of Paris, Michael (Beth) Asbury of Jacksonville, Florida, Barbara (Russell) Anderson of Paris, David Asbury of Paris, Sheryl Boone of Sullivan, Indiana, Joyce (Jeff) Moody of Terre Haute, Indiana, Melissa (Terry) Knight of Paris, Nancy (Rick) Porter of Edwardsville, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
