June 25, 1930 – December 30, 2018
June (Heath) Barrett Deffenbaugh, age 88 of Paris, Illinois, passed away at 3:50 p.m. Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Horizon Health in Paris. She retired from Citizens National Bank, where she had been an Administrative Assistant for 26 years. She also had been employed for 2 years at the Edgar County Highway Department, and was formerly employed by Sam Cohen Insurance in Hume. June attended Melwood Grade School and was a graduate of Hume High School. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Born June 25, 1930 in Hume, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Stephen Littler and Clara Eva (Waltz) Heath of Hume, Illinois. She married Robert L. Barrett November 29, 1952 in Hume, and he passed away July 19, 1993. She then married Hobart V. "Duffy" Deffenbaugh June 27, 1997 and he passed away January 7, 2009. Survivors include five children; Steven J. (Ellen) Barrett Monticello, Illinois, Philip D. (Debra) Barrett of Effingham, Illinois, Roberta L. (Brian) Randall of Atlanta, Georgia, Deborah M. (Stephen) Vice of Paris, Illinois, and Evelyn L. (fiancé Ray Barnes) Julian of Paris, Illinois, one sister Judi (Fenton) Macke of Crown Point, Indiana, 21 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 5 step-great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother Robert Heath.
Visitation for June will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 4, 2019 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Valery Burusu officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
